Diamond GCC was founded on the concept of hands on personal interaction with our clients from start to finish with a high expectation for quality. We want to be involved in each project as early as possible to collaborate with the team so that gaps are bridged early, so that cost savings can be recognized early on in the project. The Diamond team members are ready to meet the unique needs with passion for our clients and deliver the quality they expect. Our team is experienced in several areas of the market place with regard to Interior Commercial Construction with the private and public sectors in the market place.

We believe in “No Surprises” and that Communication is the one most important key to any project. This starts with new age technology for our employees, field communication with our subcontractor community through on-site meetings and weekly progress meetings with our clients so that all parties are informed throughout the process. With our hands on approach with each and every project, Diamond is able to deliver our projects to our clients on time, on budget without ever comprising Quality.

Our Team

Ray Coffey President/CEO

Ray Coffey is the President and CEO of Diamond General Contracting and has over 25+ years of construction management experience gained in the Metropolitan DC market working on many notable interior corporate projects including Leading Associations, Law Firms, Corporations and Retail projects. Ray oversees all aspects of the operation of Diamond Contracting, while concentrating on building client relationships with Owners, Architects and Engineers through collaboration and communication. Ray manages project teams from start to finish and include budgeting and bid phases. During his 25+ years building interior projects, Ray has managed and built out over 6 million square feet of interior commercial projects.

Charles Carter Senior Project Manager

As Senior Project Manager and a leader in the commercial interior field for over 10 years, Charlie is responsible for all phases of the construction process from competitive bidding through project closeout. His focus is to provide clear cut directives that will ensure a smooth transition from start to finish on all projects. Charlie oversees the day-to-day operations/activities on each project with the superintendents so that schedules are met for our clients. Charlie also works very closely with Architects, Engineers and Owners to advise and coordinate all site logistics, drawing coordination and scheduling phases. He handles weekly progress meetings, procurement of materials and lead times, submission of shop drawings/submittals and administers the quality control process in accordance with the Diamond standards.

Don Simpson Senior Superintendent

Don has over 30 years of experience managing interior construction projects. His portfolio includes: commercial interiors, retail, and building upgrades. As the full-time manager of the project site, Don manages all trades and vendors, manpower requirements and sequence of work. Don works closely with the Senior Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager on clearly communicating the progress and issue management to the client. Through his deep experience, Don can work through project conflicts, design revisions, unforeseen conditions and out of sequence work in a smooth and team-building manner, while maintaining the required schedule. With his experience, Don also assumes the role of Quality Control and Safety Manager, inevitably providing a project that meets the high standards of Diamond and its clients.

Valerie Thomas Assistant Project Manager

Valerie comes to the team with five years of experience in commercial construction. Her role is to be the hub for project documentation and correspondence. These tasks include: meeting notes, submittals, pay applications and O&M Manuals. In addition, her role is to support the site and project teams. As a liaison between the field and subcontractors, Valerie works on logistics, schedule, procurement tracking and manpower requirements of the project. Her diligence provides a solid foundation to a smooth and collaborative process.
